Copernicia fallaense has always been one of my favorite palms and I'm happy to have this one growing quite well in the garden. It currently stands at about 12 ft. tall.

Hawaii Island (Big Island), leeward coast, 19 degrees N. latitude, south Kona mauka at approx. 380m (1,250 ft.) and about 1.6 km (1-mile) upslope from ocean.

No record of a hurricane passing over this island (yet!).

After being absent from the forum for a bit, your topic was the first one that popped up when I hit "new content". Wow! What a beauty!

Any hints you can give me to convince mine to grow that well would be welcome!

Really nice, Al. I have several in the ground, but they're just babies. Thanks for the encouragement.

Very nice! But its greener then those I have seen in Cuba. Maybe the difference in soil has to do with it. And maybe also more rain all over the year while inn Cuba they have a dry season in winter.
