Hello everyone :) !  Since it's been inquired about I thought I'd start the ball rolling.  Saturday, March 24th is our next PSSC chapter meeting.  It will be held at the Los Angeles Arboretum.  It will be a joint meeting along with the Bamboo Society....cool! :D   Here's the link:

Hey, isn't anyone going?  Am I gonna be the only one there with a bunch of bamboo freaks?  We should fight them.  And even if they can use bamboo poles to whip us, we can use...like...uh...Salacca leaves to thrash them about the head and necks.  Hello? :o

Is one allowed to use the word "stuck" when in reference to Hawaii? ....   ???

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

There will be a joint meeting of the SoCal Chapter of the American Bamboo Society (ABS) and the Palm Society of Southern California (PSSC) this Saturday, March 24, at the Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanic Garden - 301 N Baldwin Ave, Arcadia CA. 91007 - 626-821-3234. The following is a schedule for the day’s events:

1) Walking tours of Palm and Bamboo collections (separate tours) 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

2) 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. lunch - Cafe/restaurant on site. Other options at nearby locations.

3) 1:15 p.m. Lecture - Relocation of Large Palms - Larry Conkings, Valley Crest Tree Co.

4) 2:00 p.m. Presentation - American Bamboo Society - Collaborations and current projects.

5) 2:30 p.m. Plant auction/sales
