Split Trunk.......No worry

I ran across this Palm (Veitchia sp?) in south Florida. The trunk was completely split down the middle, all the way to the ground. Yes, you can see straight through the trunk. Looks like it has been growing this way for awhile. No signs of other stress such as lightning strike and growing in protected area. Looking up at the crown, the palm looks very healthy. There is always hope if you have a cracked trunk.
