Love the diminutive Neo pauciflora with its long stolons. It's one of my favorites.

You have the most amazing collection, Pete! So colorful and beautifully grown. And your pup is looking at you so adoringly in the photo! :)

Thanks Ray, Rusty and Kim for comments, pls post pics of "your" broms :) KIm, I think the shot of Pup captures her very well, she adores her master :)

Heres a few more, the pink/red soft hybrid is Cauldera x Silomontana and the 1s Im holding are cool, V large growing hybrids as such Macho x Silvomontana Macho x Great White and Great White x Silvomontana, they all have a tad of burn as Ive been growing them hard , these will be very interesting to watch mature and where all bred "locally" by Peter Tristram.

Pls post pics of "your" Broms here Ptalkers/Tropical plant growers :)

Nice Broms Pete, quite a collection you have there... I only grow a few Alcanterea, but do admire the smaller shade loving plants.

Very beautiful! I have some of the more cold tolerant bromeliads but unfortunately they don't have much color when not in bloom. Still pretty plants though.

That's a T. Hildae pup I inserted in the leaf base of a Bismarkia nobilis. I am hoping that by the time the leaf base falls off, the T. Hildae would have enough roots to cling on by itself

Am also trying to establish some large Tillandsias on the trunks of palms. These are the first generation plants. and hoping that their pups take root on their own.

Eugenio,

I am jealous, I can't have bromeliads in our srilankan garden.

But I love your pictures .

Do you propagate bromeliads from seeds?

Pete,

Wow, lots of spectacular bromeliads! :) I'm gradually building up a nice little bromeliad collection, and I'm off to the local Farmers' Market in a little while to see if I can pick up a few more! Can never have too many! :) The one in the first photo is an Aechmea, probably a hybrid, the second is an Aechmea 'Blue Tango' and then of course a bunch of Vriesea hybrids. Love'em all! :)

Bo-Göran

PS. Oh, and Gene - you have a fantastic collection as well! Very impressive! :)

Yes I have tried propagation by seed but it takes such a long time. i even hybridized some Neoregelias-- took about 8 years to see what they actually look like

You can never have too many bromeliads. They are perfect for small patios or large gardens. They can be easily moved, planted in beds or mounted on trees.A truly incredible and diverse group of plants.

I now have 100s and my only problem is that I usually forget their names once they leave their pots.

Bo, Gene and Scott, "brilliant pics" by you all to make this thread a visual treat, :greenthumb: many thanks, look fwd to more pics whenever you feel the urge . :)

Too many broms here are in "dire need" to be moved to a "new" better lit area as they are in way too much shade and boringly green, I hope they still have tags on so I know "what" they will colour into, and 1 of the many positives of growing broms is they are "so easy" to "relocate" as you all know anyway :)

Heres a few more pics to keep this thread "posting with pics", added the Macho x Johannis with a 10ltr bucket for scale and these are still "pups" :)
