Hi everyone!

I´ve recently known this forum and I´m very happy to enjoy it.

I was wondering if you could help me to identify some palms we are growing in our little garden in Santo Domingo, Ecuador.

The first one has very large leaves and even the biggest ones has not a real trunk:

And the second one has spiny petioles and big leaves:

I´d be very gratefull for your help, so thank you in advance!

The first sideways pic looks like an Attalea.

Agreed on both counts. Attaleas are harder to identify the particular species but Attalea colenda is native to Ecuador.
