Hey man, I hope you are well? How are your Bougainvillea's doing this spring? I have just purchased 3 new ones for my yard, since they were only £6 ($7) each! I got 3 of them for only £18 ($22). They should fire whoever is doing their pricing at the store lol. They are crazy cheap and should probably be at least triple that really. This was from my local supermarket, which is the equivalent of Walmart in the States pretty much. I was surprised to even see them being sold there.

To answer your question about elevation, I am approximately 55m or 180 feet above sea level here. So not particularly high up, but much higher than the coastal or London areas that are loaded with all those palms and exotics. Those areas are almost at sea level really.

Did you get around to adding any new Bougainvillea varieties? I think this is one of the most interesting plants for temperature/med/tropical climates.

How are your Bougs doing?  Here are some late summer blooms..

This variegated dwarf bougainvillea (orig. from Logee's) is perfect for pot culture. I overwinter it indoors since it drops all its leaves in cold weather.

@SailorBold Your Bougainvillea is looking good! Much better than mine, but I only planted mine small back in May. It keeps flowering over and over, but is still pretty small. Not a huge amount of growth really and not worth a post. I have two planted out and one in a pot still. I'll update on them after winter and next year.

I spotted this Bougainvillea in Torquay, Devon last week on the south coast of England. Looking at Google street view, it seems it has been there for years and never gets protected. There must be quite a bit of untapped potential for Bougainvillea over here. There are probably many more lurking out there.

Another in Weymouth, Dorset...

Here's the Glabra specimen in London, which is looking good. Bougainvillea should be more widely planted in the capital. The street view image was recently updated last month.

Another in Holloway, north London. I need to get a more recent update on this one.

Still need to get an update on the big Dagenham one as well. That is the most impressive one I know. I doubt mine will be able to reach the proportions of some of these London and south coast ones. I am colder here in winter.

Of all the bougies I've grown, these dwarf ones are almost completely thornless. I love the ease of growing them in pots I can bring indoors to enjoy.
