About the Gardens:

The Hooper Garden is probably 30+ years in the making with lots of good sized cycads and palms.  An impressive number of Rhapisvarieties and a number of different bamboos.  The Lundstedts have been at their current residence for 23 years and have been growing and collecting palms for about 30 years.  They have mostly planted palms with a few cycads in the mix. Usually getting a few nights of frost  every winter has made it a good testing ground for some of the marginal cold tolerant palms. A few notable palms that have survived the occasional frost and the winter of 2010-11 are Corypha Sp.,Howea fosteriannaLicuala ramsayii and Dypsis pembana.

Any photos of the meeting?   I miss two meetings in a row and no one else post photos of the meetings?  Geez...LOL.

A friend picked up a Brahea "Super Silver" and Coccothrinax Procterii for me in my absence .... Thanks Eric!

Would of loved seeing some garden pictures. Especially some species that are considered too tropical for the areas but seem to go through the colder months each year.

Searle Brothers Nursery Inc.

and The Rainforest Collection.

I wan't able to make it either and have been watching for photos. I have never been to the Lundstedts and haven't been to Jerry Hoopers in a long time.
