Thank you for posting about one of the endemic species in Sri Lanka,

Is it in your garden? on a stream bank?
I am looking forward to seeing your pics of the fruits, here is one our A. concinna in Doranakanda garden.

can you tell us the local name in sinhalese? this name tells about the lovely animals enjoying eating the fruits.

Thank you Ahamed,
I read that name in 1925 H.F. Macmillan 's book.
I am surprised that even being british, I learnt many words and traditions from the natives and he gives many local names in sinhalese and tamil in his book. I am sure he loved your country and the people.

Back to leena puwak - Macmillan wrote leena tari  (or teri?) - we have many leena in the garden and I love their songs, (noise? or speaking?)

I LOVE Puwak trees, as you can see on my old posts. (Areca catechu….)
