Definitely cooler than Orlando by several degrees, as a result of being at higher latitude and closer to the NE FL coast.  The water temps in winter are much cooler here than from Cape Canaveral south in winter and I would estimate that cold NW winds making it to Daytona Beach tend to stay north of the Gulf of Mexico before making their way across NE FL and to the city.

It is interesting that Daytona Beach's daily averages reach as cool (and cooler thereafter) as Orlando's mid-winter averages (Orlando's average temperatures at their lowest in mid-January) in mid-December.  December tends to be Orlando's cloudiest month and I would assume the same is true for Daytona Beach.

Here is Orlando's.  Note the longer span of years .

Every area , of course has only one reporting station in this data , so local microclimates certainly would be different .

Daytona's reporting station for much of this data is at the airport , which not representative of much of the town .  It is

generally colder at night and warmer in the daytime . Often in the winter , I am 10-16 deg warmer - AM , and often the same- PM.

I have seen 18deg warmer AM and 16 cooler in the afternoon during the Winter months .
