When we met last week in Peradeniya, User00 (Hi :)) and I had a talk about Loxococcus rupicola:

This endemic species of Sri Lanka is showing two different forms: one ( lowland = Sinharaja forest area) is having a very reddish trunk, crownshaft and flower stems. The other (Highland = Knuckles ranges) is mostly green,

These two forms are planted in Peradeniya, it seems that several palm experts in Sri Lanka consider there are two subspecies, at least we, in Sri Lanka, make the difference and I know which one I prefer.

How are yours?

Great pics Philippe , I love the red crownshaft on the lowland variety , I think mine is the plain green , but the new leaf it throws out is awesome . It is starting to thicken up a bit now , I can't wait until they get some size (and seed) .IMG_0027.thumb.JPG.4418489f4b79e02295282

Yeah, I seem to have the highland variety as well, but the new leaf is great and it's seeding like mad.
