A tale of two coconut leaves

We had several nights of mid and high 30's here. The first coconut leaf is under the overhang.

This one is not.

Here's the whole palm.

As a bonus, here is my bottle Palm which I've had for two winters and may not be long for this world.

I think they will both pull through.  You probably should apply some Copper Fungicide as a foliar spray to both of them.  Bonide makes a good organic Copper Fungicide.  It needs to be a Copper one though and not any of the other fungicides, since the Copper helps prevent bud rot in palms and helps them to recover from cold injury.  I wouldn't throw either of them out, at least not until June or July.  I have seen palms worse than your Bottle recover.

Same thing happens with mine. My bottle palm is looking like it got more damage than I was expecting it to get. I think an unexpected cold night got it.

But wait...

My bottle at the Vista garden saw 7 nights right at 31-32 (short duration)and still looks good. Granted mine is 6' tall might had to do something with that but it was still a box chain buy last year.

My bottle is looking equally burnt, but I have no doubts that it will come back strong.  Maybe I should have given it a little protection.  Last winter it showed almost no winter damage at all, but the jaboticaba I have next to it, was a bit burnt.  This year the jaboticaba has shown no winter stress whatsoever but the bottle is pretty burnt (The leaves from last winter).

My coconut is looking a bit burnt too.  I will post some pictures when I resolve the problems with my Windows 10 photos. This Windows 10 is buggy as hell!.  I am a little uncertain how well my coconut will do, but I have resolved not to cut off any of the burnt leaves until well into the summer when it is growing well again.  I'm a little worried it might do the same thing as a couple of Cyrtostachys renda I tried a couple years back.  They made it through the winter -- looking pretty ragged -- then slowly died...  Boy I would love to get ahold of the hybrid if I ever could!  I am considering trying the seaweed fertilizer.

My bottle took more damage than I thought it would. I threw a few light blankets over them a few nights but I think the damage was done the night before I tried protecting them. I slacked it again:rant::badday:
