Perhaps a Veitchia. I see some speckles on the stems that remind me of V. joannis

Hi Giuseppe,

We have around 9 - 12 C minimum sometimes during winter nights (from Mid-December to Mid-February) and during the day 18 - 23 C, this winter is not so cold we have higher temperatures.

I have many tropical palms and they growing well here, I havent tried coconut palms yet and havent seen them in the city.

Hello Mehdi

you have a good climate !   in what city you live?
as you know in Italy there are many people of  Morocco who live here, some of my Moroccan friends had told me that their climate were the same as mine,

they were wrong? or Morocco have many different climatic zones?

mehdi:

That looks a lot like a Veitchia arecina.

(See my PM, private message . . . )

If that's what it is, keep it protected from the cold. On the other hand, if it won't get too cold where you are, it should grow wonderfully if you water it!

Welcome to palm talk!

How about some pictures of Morocco? Palms, people, Fez, Marakesh . . . .

Here some pictures just after this winter, it was cold during february and march this year, damaged my Veichia's, and I lost 2 of 14.

I made more research, they are Veitchia Joannis most cold tolerant in veitchia species I think, and they look good after few years...
