these pictures have been done every 4 months. it seems Asterogyne enjoys Samarakoon's garden conditions.

Boy, that's one of most beautiful Asterogyne I've ever seen. It definitely looks happy.

Hi Philippe,

Ahhhh, that's no Asterogyne martiana. Your plant is clumping and Asterogyne martiana is a solitary species. Any pictures of a flower? It could be  Geonoma spp. Or some other species of Asterogyne that might clump that I'm not aware of, but I doubt it. Nicely grown though!

Also, most of the ones I have seen in habitat do not have that much trunk in relation to the height of your plant and the amount of leaves. It has Geonoma written all over it.

OMG!

Thanks to Palmtalk, I can learn from you, Jeff, thanks.

Samarakoon is a wonderful man but often he doesn't get the botanic names of the plants he grows. I'll try to photograph a flower next time if I am lucky.

Oh yeah, that Jeff has one good eye left. Thanks Jeff, that's a Geonoma I'd love to have as well.

Looks good, almost same like my Geonoma when you see the leaves  :)

I'll check next time the trunk and how it is clumping, roots and leaves petioles too maybe.

Anyway: nice palm

Is that way of clumping on the top of the crown normal?
