I thought this clump was xerographica but a friend said it was probably a streptophylla? I think he is right... any thoughts?

You're right on the first Andrew although it seems to be a clump (unusual) and really in need of a soaking. How old is the inflorescence on the second plant?

The first is indeed T. xerographica in a severely dessicated state. Soak him for 12 hours.

Awesome. Will do. Also I was told the second plant in question is utriculata. I also found some pictures of a variation that clusters?

The second plant that is a native, it is already pollinated and will soon release a pod of seed. The plants are roughly the size of my open hand.
