ITAI!! Earthquake in Japan

There was an earthquake yesterday in southern Japan, and while it wasn't the nasty one they had in 2011 in northern Japan, it was plenty bad enough.

The fun never stops on the Ring of Fire!

Are we next?

Sooner or later . . . yes.

I would be nervous now if I were you. It seems like we get a lot of earthquakes around the same time. First Myanmar, the Japan, then Equador; coincidence?

No. Just the ring of fire.

It's the mother lode of earthquakes.

We're safer here in Cali for a number of reasons, including building codes, no subduction zones, less likelihood of tsunamis (at least here in the south).

I've been through 30 quakes of significance. Some are much worse than others.
