Bought this one 2 years ago. When we got it, it had leaves that were about 6 feet long. It has a quite large base but it has been producing really small leaves that turn brown (starting from the extremities) pretty fast. It has been producing lots of new leaves but is much smaller than when it got planted.. Any ideas what could be going on here?

thanks!

Yes,even i though so...Its believed that even from old yellowing fronds the palm draws the needed energy. So by cutting it too often will lead to malnutrition of some kind.invariably leading to stunted growth or even death in course of time.

Palms should not be trimmed till they put out a hardened trunk.

In facebook under international palm society page there was one member has over trimmed his cidp and other members have appreciated it.I dont know what to say...

Love,

Kris.
