Hi I have been monitoring my waggie so far the only sign of growth is in the leaflets starting to open now instead of being closed.but I see no sign of the spear fan opening and there us no spear pull and all leaves are a dark green.

how long does it take for the spear to open.im new to this palm and only had it for 2 months.when will I see noticable growth I.e new petioles and leaves forming.its being kept in s pot 2x bigger than rootball fed with palmbooster and focus fortnightly

Here is a pic from a few weeks back as I said I have noticed no noticable growth regarding the spear opening besides all leaflets on all leaves opening.its in a healthy condition besides that I always see baby spiders and webs on the leaves I clear them off but alwways come back advice on that would be great also.

Don't know about the baby spiders. Isn't the spear moving at all or just not opening? Your palm does indeed look perfectly healthy and will be alright without a doubt.

It's probably focusing on root growth right now. Did you recently transplant it? It should be fine. They're slow growers as well.

It was placed in that pot 2 months ago.and there is no sign of movement of the spear only the older leaves seem to be getting bigger.

They can sulk after being disturbed. Just be patient. Growing palms is a slow hobby.

One thing I learned the hard way is that transplanting

and leaving a palm out in cool temps can make root

growth/recovery VERY slow.

I am thinking of planting the waggy now.will it grow faster after being put in ground

Once its established it should be much faster then in a pot.
