anyone here growing these 

what the growth rate Licuala orbicularis,Licuala cordata and  Licuala mattanensis  from seeds

Slow!!! And they are very susceptible to dampening off as seedlings. Well drain soil, and a soil drench fungicide would be recommended.

L. mapu about 15 months since germination. Germination period was about 2-3 months

L. mapu direct seeded, about 12 months since planting, no idea of germination time as I forgot about it  . First noticed it as a single leaf about 3 months ago.

L. pembana or L .cordata   It is one or the other, unsure which as I did not label at the time. About 12 months since germination which was 3-4 months.

L. thoana ,about 18 months since germination which was quite quick at about 2 months.

L. orbicularis about 6 months since germination. Took about 7-8 months to germinate.

Our weather is warm all year like yours but as we are the wet/dry tropics we have that period of low humidity from about May to September. Everything is growing in all day dappled shade with overhead watering. Times are approx. and could be a couple of months either way.

I confirm, most of the Licuala are slow growing seedlings. Only Licuala grandis feeling at  home here has a nice growth, self sowing palm.

So we wait...
