american oil palm vs african oil palm

I was given one of these seeds about a year ago and once germinated it has grown pretty nice over the last year, I have spoken to a couple palm people up here and have been told there is only one type and the African and the American are in fact the one type, but from a little research I thought they look a little different in some pics I seen,  is there anyone else that can confirm they are two separate species?

Hmmm maybe I was given wrong seed, I've thought it was one the whole time, I'm definitely interested to see what this turns into.

Anythings possible nowadays with Palms, looks like a Veitchia stem with Areca leaves? Or as Richie said it could be Hydriastele selebica ? Keep us updated with your fast palm  speed growth you get up there.

Edit.  Cant be the latter because of the seed.

Where did you get the seed/ It could V well be a Vietchia X Areca
