Thanks for the pics you said you would take, and look at the date it was planted, 100 yrs before I was born, there is 3 different Agathis sp in Australia , Robusta is from Far NQ  and also PNG.  Pete :)  P1100045.JPG

Incredible pictures of a awe- inspiring tree.. Agree with Jerry, Would be awesome seeing more of these.. the size of the specimen at Selby Botanical, or this big, growing all over Florida, or California. Imagine what you could plant below a solid grove of these spanning an acre or two.

Agathis form the back bone of the Australian forrest section in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. I had one confined to a pot for a few years as a young sapling they are very interesting. I planted it into the garden of a house I was renting . I kick myself now for planting it as it wasn't very many years after that I bought my own house.

 Have done the same thing in the past.. and also regretted the decision.. Hence why all the "good stuff" won't leave containers, until i own my own yard, even if that means fighting the sun here..  its Really good at cooking things, especially palm seedlings, even under shady patios.:rage:
