Coconut leaf/frond black spots. 18.99$

Up here in Connecticut, most nurseries dont sell many palms besides houseplant majesty palms and the occasional sago.  This nursery has a 3ft coconut for 18.99$  but the leaves had some black spots and look like they were trimmed quite a bit.  Is the black spots lethal to the palm?  is the palm worth the money?IMG_1896.JPG.40f1ac10c74188c2ef4801182e1IMG_1899.JPG.68ff426ea6269e15de849f3c199IMG_1898.JPG.8871c2a84300f8adf28db45472cIMG_1897.JPG.c787ff62f0e58eaa0f2549164a8

They are not lethal, many of my palms have them too. I believe they are mold spots. But it won't hurt the palm.

I would say the palm is worth the money, especially for your location. Coconuts are not comman there.

I agree with PTD. The palm itself looks ok, the green of the leaves is strong and cocos are usually somehow tough -

so, for that price I would take the chance. (Over here they cost the double of your's, but have the same size.)

best regards
