Well, good to see your still at it!  Where are you putting all this stuff anyway? Place must be looking like Andy's garden.....jammed.

That B.gracilis has some seriously long leaflets, looks nice and has some size to it.

Plate here and of course it's raining so, I'll snap some photos for you tomorrow.

As I am stuck with just fast food speed wi fi at the moment (slow...) I will see how long my patience allows to post a few photos.

Your gorgeous new palm reminded me I had not checked on mine since returning from the Biennial. So I headed out after breakfast, loppers in hand just in case. Here's what I found, another palm in crisis due to a fallen tree in my absence.

Below are the views  after I chopped away.

The log is going to need to rot on site but seems to be secure.

Another case of PVC pipe sentry protecting and allowing me to locate a palm as well as holding a label at easy to read height.

Believe it or not, this tiny Basselinia gracilis/eriostachys was planted 8/11.

So slow but unharmed. Perhaps the extra sun now will make it grow a little faster? From what I read I guess I should just be happy it is alive and some future generation can see a trunk?

Here is a link to some other Basselinia photos http://www.palmtalk.org/forum/index.php?/topic/47812-basselinia-quartet-in-puerto-rico/#comment-733929

Again, congratulations on your lovely addition!

Finally stopped raining and took the time to post a few photos of this nifty little palm. Two were planted back in late 2008 in one gallon containers.

Steady growers and lightly clumping and take up minimal space. Shaded by canopy for a good part of the day and nice color on the trunk and crown shaft.

Paul, yours is a good size and should give you good growth. The 'ole' shovel is there for scale.
