Ive seen these ones around fort island beach.  they look around 60-70 ft tall  what do you think?

One year at Myrtle beach there was a really old 60 foot palmetto. But here in Florida I see them generally around 30 - 50 feet. Or they just look like a bush out in the woods. Lol :drool:

In Spain the Sabals are a uncommon palms. Every Sabal i have seen in gardens are small, not trunk or with a few meters.

But in the Botanical garden of Valencia , we have two monster Sabal dominguensis with i think 150 years and amazing trunks.

I went to the isle of palms in sc and saw a 55 footer once.  any pics of the one in myrtle beach?

Sabals are slow here. The biggest ones I recall seeing are in the Huntington, but they're nowhere near as big as the ones in some of the pictures in this thread.

Ive never seen a branched Palmetto over 20 ft.  that is really cool!

The ones near orlando seem really big.  why dont you see them this big in the southern parts of florida?

Sadly I didn't get to take a picture, this was back when I wasn't really into palm trees. I'll be at Hilton Head, SC soon so I will take a LOT of pictures of all the palmettos out in the woods there!! :drool:

Wow! seeing these super tall palmettos offers a whole new perspective on this species, they look great in big groups and really tall.

Corpus Christi, TX, near salt water, zone 9b/10a! Except when it isn't and everything gets nuked.

I've seen even taller Sabals before one time i saw a couple in Tampa Florida they looked like 100 feet tall they were growing wild in the swamp but they stand out so much
