What Is a Good Way to Germinate Sabal Palmetto Seeds?

I want to germinate these Sabal palmetto seeds (the center of them.) and I am not sure what the best was to germinate them is. Should I just throw them in a pot with soil? I tried the baggy method and the paper towel method but both of those did not work, for me. Any suggestions? (Pictures, the one with the crushed seed is just me showing the center of the seed, that I cleaned off.)

Put them in a community pot with a half perlite and half soil mix. Place them in a warm area outside. Allow the soil to dry a little between waterings. Keeping the soil too moist will inhibit germination. BE PATIENT, my Sabal domingensis seeds just now germinated after 2 months.

I germinated a bunch of Sabal minor seeds (looked almost identical to those Sabal palmetto seeds) using the baggie method and a standard heat mat purchased from Walmart.  They started germinating in about 3 weeks (one week after the Washingtonia filiferas I started at the same time using the same method) at about a 75% germination rate.  Sometimes you just get a bad batch.  I'd try germinating a few seeds using different methods at the same time (baggie, ground, Jiffy trays, paper towels, etc...).  See what takes.

I threw like 200 on the ground in my planter... I might have hundreds springing up in the next month.

Yeah, they sprouted like beans for me too with the bag method.

All Sabal seeds germinated for me pretty quickly but then get extremely slow...maybe because we are in winter here ?
