HOwdyall:

One of the many plants that weren't destroyed in our freeze was the "Amaryllis" properly known as Hippeastrum.

One of mine, a little chewed by snails, but a joy.

A friend moved to the East Coast last year and gave me all her plants: Elephant Ears, White Ginger, Reed Orchids, and this "Red Lion".

I should put in the ground. Right now it's in morning shade/afternoon sun. Keep it in the same area?

A couple of mine are budding right now.  It's worth rescuing those Christmas amaryllises.  Or "give" them to family and friends, and kindly offer to provide recycling service when they're finished flowering.  In Florida, same goes for Easter lilies.  I should plant some under my Satake palms, which are also from the Ryukus.  They'd feel right at home.

I really need to add some of these to my garden. Beautiful.

Here's mine a few months ago. Too bad the flowers are short-lived, but when they bloom they are spectacular.
