Howdyall!

It's that time again, and the Archies are all having an orgy and I'm up to my eyeteeth in new, fresh seed. The ten-thousand-duplets. Literally (well, maybe).

Some of you got lots (of seed) last year and some grew, some didn't, and if you want some now, follow these instructions:

INSTRUCTIONS

Send PM to DoomsDave

"Archie seeds" in message (please say Archie, or tuckeri, to avoid confusion with other seed giveaways).

Your FULL mailing address.

Please don't ask if I still have any

If I run out, I'll advise. I have so many. Yes, even the ocean is finite, but you go ahead and drink it all . . . .

I don't care if you got some last year, you're more than welcome to more.

I'm going to let a couple of weeks' worth of requests accumulate and send them out all at once. (Likely followed by more.)

Take me for all I've got!

Everyone.

Don't be shy.

You might have gotten some free seeds last year and they didn't grow. I had some, too, that also didn't. I don't know why and I don't care. I'm planting a few more to have baby plants.

Try again! Ask and ye shall receive! When post office reopens tomorrow, I'm going to lay in some serious postage for all my palm friends in the U.S. and "overseas."

A mother tuna fish lays 40 million eggs at a time. The Archies are celibate compared to that, but I'm up to my eyeteeth in seeds! They're appearing in my dreams. Jumping into bed with me. I climbed on the roof and took down a cluster that weighed 50 pounds. Just one! There's more.

So, send me your full mailing address, anywhere on Earth and I'll mail you some seeds. Free! Crazy? Maybe but enjoy the insanity before the medicine kicks in . . . .

42 envelopes mailed today.

Each envelope contains about 30-40 seeds.

They HAVE NOT been cleaned, but they're freshly harvested. They may have a bit of mold on them, but that won't hurt anything.

If you drop them in water they'll float because of the dried "fruit" on the outside. I've cleaned about 30 at random, and little nuts inside all sink like stones. Clean them if you want, but they don't seem to do any better with the extra trouble.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS

Soak seeds overnight. Again, don't be alarmed if uncleaned seeds float.

Fill pot with about about 15 CM or 6" of potting soil, and spread seeds in a single layer on top of soil. Cover lightly, with about half an inch (1 cm) of soil and keep moist. They germinate well at household temperatures, but some extra heat (85 F) won't hurt. A pot about 6" 14 cm across will hold an envelope full of seeds.

When the little plants develop about two leaves, gently separate and plant in individual pots, liners or dixie cups. Keep moist. The warmer and moister you keep them, the faster they'll grow. (Shoes are 12.5" or 32 cm long.)

DD, are these pretty tough with respect to crown rot?  I have been pretty lazywhen it comes to getting water all over the ones I have.  Wondering it I should be more careful. Thanks.
