Hey all,

A year ago last May, I spent a week  in Hilo with a couple friends & we got to visit a number of gardens. One of which was Bill Austin's, who had this beautiful clumping Dypsis that was different from anything I'd seen. I'm sure I have the picture somewhere but can't seem to locate it.  Anyway it was seeding profusely & Bill invited us to scoop up a handful or two of the seeds on the ground. They all germinated in a few months. What was interesting to me was that about half sprout with bifid leaves like most Dypsis of this type do. But others put out fully pinnate leaves right out of the gate. They are strong growers. Anyone else have this experience while germinating seeds?

When you get a chance post a picture of the mother plant. If it's from Bilks garden I'm sure it's going to be a beauty
