So I joined Palm Talk 5 years ago and I finally got a place for a garden last year. I decided to show some progress since starting this garden a year go. My area is far from ideal but there's still some cool stuff growing here and it will get even more epic with time. In February my son was born so he's taken up a lot of time so I have loads of work to do but to start I'll show the progress since last year. 

To start this is the backyard July of last year

Kentiopsis olivaformis doing well on the south side other the house. Also a small Sabal mauritiiformis by the pond.

For now the last is a planter I haven't gotten much work done yet but happening soon. Sabal minor and Sabal blackburniana.

I figured for now I would showcase the best and the surprising palms I have growing after a year. Hope everyone enjoys what I've some so far and next year is going to be much nicer!

Josh I do have one Bizzy but it had a bad start. It's looking to recover and actually is starting to explode but it's still small. Got it as a seedling at my first PSSC meeting. I wanted to line the driveway with them but my girl doesn't like them. She wanted to line it with Queens so we compromised and planted queens haha.

Haha yeah I have plenty of space to add more palms. It will take time and I will move things around so this place will change quite a bit over the years. I didn't take pictures of everything but at least whats looking good. There's even a 30 foot Washingtonia but the question with that one is to keep or not keep.

Looking good Chris, that's a lot of work in just 1 year.  Nice job!  First year always seems the slowest as far as growth goes, so you should really see some of those take off in the next couple of years.

Thanks Jason! Some of the palms I planted last year have really started moving the last few months. I'm starting to worry I went a little overboard but then again might not be a problem haha.
