seeing how close to the concrete it planted are you not worried abut the roots lifting it up?

they have a huge root system.

I'm not sure I've seen L. australis in Miami. Maybe at Montgomery.

Yeah, Jason, it's not a very common palm at all. As far as Livistona in South Florida, chinensis is quite common, then decora is seen here and there and is just recently being planted as a highway palm. After that, you may see a Saribus rotundifolius before you see another kind of Livistona...

I love Livistona decora in SoFla. I'll never forget seeing a pair in front of a fairly old two-story farmhouse tucked into the agricultural area around Homestead. Probably 1986. Huge crowns, shimmering, with delicately thin trunks.

I agree--a lovely palm. I myself am more keen on drudei but my dad likes the fuller crown of decora.
