This ones for Kris and others like us that cannot source nice pots.

Here we are stuck with using ugly black plastic pots but find they look much better if not seen when covered with a groundcover plant like in the pic.

I do not know the name of this particular groundcover but it works really well and will grow on anything. It helps hold moisture in the pot as well however in our climate the succulent and cacti did not like it and went limp and unhealthy but all our potted palms love it and it is much better than seeing the plastic containers.

This is a really clever idea, but I find it hard to believe that there are no master potters in Indian towns and villages. ???

Hey Jim,

I'm curious to know, what's the silvery blue palm on the right side? It's got great color.

Something I have done temporarily is to wrap the entire black plastic pot in burlap then tie it up around the rim with raphia or natural looking rope/twine. Looks pretty natural to me and it's much better than black plastic....cheap too!

The queen tha tI now have planted in my yard used to be in a 25 gallon black pot. I put some small pansies in with it and while it didn't cover the pot, It was definately enough to draw the eye upward and detract from the pot. three weeks or so ago, (been in ground for just about a year) one of my kids yelled to me, "MOM-

what's this flower over here by this palm tree?" iZ went over there and looked, to find a snap dragon growing at the base of the palm.... ??? I have none at all in my yard,  nor have I ever.....very strange..... ???

This looks very nice, adds more interest and texture. almost like a palm 'topiary'-

Would any type of a small, trailing plant be ok,or, is there certain kinds to avoid using because they may conflict with the palms?

I have painted some of these pots, which just makes them uglier
