Any ideas on species?  Its, unfazed by moderate freezes and frost.  It's growth rate is close to decora, but color is quite different, and leaflets are broad and erect.  I keep wondering if it's mariae or rigida.  It wasn't that purple color when smaller though.  They love water.

Land O Lakes FL, a suburb on the North Side of Tampa, FL

Summers are great, 90f/32c in the day & 70f/21c at night with plentiful rain & sun

Winters are subtropical with occasional frosts and freezes. Tropical cyclones happen.

We have a few Royal palms in the warm microclimates but Coconuts freeze.

This isn't one of the Livistonas one encounters commonly here in FL.  In our garden we have: chinensis, nitida, saribus, australis, decora, mariae (supposedly), speciosa, muelleri, benthamii, drudei, fulva, and likely rigida...based on the leaf color when young.   Of the (likely) known species I our collection these look most like rigida but the color is different. The plant sold to me as mariae could be misidentified.  It's really slow growing compared to the palms in question.  I have heard of some kind of vigorous hybrid that has been sold here, and maybe that's what this is.

Looks like a hybrid, chinensis x decora. I've seen these starting to appear since L. decora is becoming more popular.

I'd tend to agree with Eric. The petiole teeth are reminiscent of L.chinensis teeth, but the leaves are like L.decora (almost). Haven't seen any of the 'pure' species here looking like the one in the photo.

Gold Coast, Queensland Latitude 28S. Mild, Humid Subtropical climate. Rainfall - not consistent enough!

Is that entire row of palms this same species or do you have others out there as well?

There are 2 Beccariophoenix in that row also.  It's hard to plant things on a narrow strip of ground and not have a row...but that's what I was trying to do.  The other end has a small variegated Sabal palmetto and a grouping of clumping Arenga...micrantha, I think.

It has a very intense spiny habit, which missed from both potential parents, namely decora and chinensis. On both spp distal part of petiole is almost unarmed but not on this specimen. Again however it may be just that Livistona hybrids are always to thorny regardless their parents. I am not familiar with this issue though.

Looks like a hybrid between saribus and decora.

Could be, or Saribus and Australis.  The leaf tips really don't droop much at all.  Decora is just so weepy.
