I was gifted about 40 or so Ravenea glauca seeds.

They all sank, and I want to sprout them all.

Kindly share your methods, purty please?

The reply of doom!

Ravenea seeds usually don't take very long to germinate. They either germinate or rot. I usually use the seedpot method. Bury the seeds just under the surface of potting soil in a pot. When I get the seeds, they go straight into water for soaking for a day or two to get any fungicide or other material coating the seeds to wash off and to hydrate them a little. Ravenea seeds will germinate in the water if they are left too long in it.

I was given a couple of fruit and simple put them (uncleaned) n a pot outside in autumn.  One germinated and has produced the first leaf. Easy peasy.

How long does it takes?

My R. glauca seeds from rarepalmseeds.com is still sleeping for 20days in incubator.

meanwhile one cryosophila guagara in the same case germinated

I bought the seed with ' new' sign but some of them floated ....... not positive :(

I wish there were some guarantee that commercially purchased seeds were always fresh and in top condition. That the seeds floated is not a good sign, but they still have a possibility of germination if they sink after soaking in water for a few days, If they don't sink after several days, they may be dry rotted inside. Try crushing them with your fingers. Better luck next time.
