In celebration of completing my Bachelor of Nursing degree I decided that I could spend some guiltfree time in my garden. I ended up pulling all my Dypsis rosea  (purchased as Dypsis 'pink crownshaft') out of my shade house just see how they looked in the positions I have been thinking about. I wanted to plant them into a mini forest that will have  a narrow path through to my shade house.20161105_153456.thumb.jpg.d9879684afdbf5

Thanks the encouragement guys. I'm glad to have those Dypsis rosea out of my shade house, I've grown them through two winters this summer will be their second in my care. I'm really happy with my gardens soil it is usually easy to dig, all it lacks is organic matter. the addition of organics makes it awesome. This year due to the additional winter late spring rain I'm only now beginning to irrigate regularly. I've planted these palms in a location I kept moist hopefully in combination with the developing canopy and the hedge along the eastern boundary the microclimate will be humid enough. I'm thinking about what to plant as an understory, concidering liriope and hippeastrum.

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!
