coconut palm leaves turnin yellow

my coconut fronds are turing yellow even though I keep watering it regulary.  could it be that part of the nut is exposed?

My "golden" Dwarf Malayan started to show yellowing on leaves about 3 months ago. It was receiving direct afternoon sunlight through the gaps in the fence.

Once I gave it shade (tarp), the leaves recovered in about 2 months and turned dark green.

Before and after pics.

It may be too much water.  Coconut palms are accustomed to lots of water, but only with well drained soils.  In the winter time, you need to be tapering off on the watering, since they don't like their roots chilly and wet.  I have a Yellow Malayan Dwarf that has just recently started turning a lot more yellow than normal, but it is in a spot of my yard that has some clay (most of my yard is sand), so it may be staying too wet, though I stuck my finger a couple of inches down in the soil, and it didn't seem too wet.  It may be a nutritional deficiency too, so I will probably have to post a photo of mine on here and see if I can get some advice too for mine.

That happens with quite a lot cocos palms over here during the winter as well. The fronds turning yellow but it grows out

quickly when spring starts. I am usually fertilizing my plants in late fall to avoid lack of nutrition (I saw professional gardeners

doing it at that time...) but it might be simply because of the winterly conditions, meaning we got warm and humid pacific winds

from spring until fall, in winter we have more often dry and cool winds from the north. It might be the lack of salt in the air during

winter but that is only a guess.

best regards

Hi There,

I live in Uk and for last couple of days it has been warm and sunny outside so i thought to get my coconut tree out.

It seems it has been a massive mistake as the leaves are turning yellow ish brown.

Is it anything which i can do to bring it back ?
