My Dypsis bojofo opened another leaf last week.   Actually, it's been sitting there ready to open for about 8 weeks but it been that dry it stayed unopened until some prompting with a good soaking overnight with the sprinkler.    Another leaf is not too far behind - maybe around Christmas I'll see the new leaf open.

Looks fantastic Steve!! I think this is the bejofo, not the "bejoufa", yes?

I planted it way back in 1998 from an 8" pot.    Up until 12 months ago, it was surrounded by two very big Dypsis Lutescens an Arenga Pinnata and a Caryota Gigas all of which I'm sure slowed its growth.  I removed all those other palms last year, so hopefully, now it will finally grow a little quicker.   Although, in saying that, I'll admit, it's been SLOW.

Looks great Steve! I do the same thing with the names, as long as the palm looks good and the name is close, I'm good to go. Gotta laugh outa that.

That above info makes me think bejofo. It grows at half the speed of bejoufa. Otherwise known at a early age as the thin pinnate leaf one (bejofo=SLOW) versus the large bifid, then large thick leafed one (bejoufa=moderate speed)

Stunning either way.  By the way, have been told/understand that this is one of the slowest growing Dypsis!!

I don't get too many leafs a year from my Dypsis Bojofo, so whenever a new leaf is close to opening I get excited.     And believe me, I'm getting excited :D

The new leaf opened a few days ago and the old girl is finally getting some size about it..  If I'm lucky I might even see another new leaf before winter.

It just gets better and better with each new leaf!  I planted a small one gallon (couldn't find a larger one here) as a centerpiece of my yard. Looks a bit funny now since it's so small and has a lot of open space around it. But one day it will be worth it.

KILLER STEVE!!!

I believe mine is the wide leafed Bejoufa. The one that Floribunda is selling. According to Jeff Marcus, the fast growing, big ones are Bejoufa. The Bejofo is much slower. I saw both in the ground at Floribunda and the Bejofo has been in the ground for a long time and is not nearly the size of the Bejoufas he has.

Here's my little guy:
