Thanks Bo, Dave, Ando, and Steve.

richnorm, I guess I missed Ben's post, maybe he'll chime in here.

Sorry for the late response guys.... been a bit busy..... new born babies in conjunction with 2.5 year old toddlers tend to reduce my pt time

I dare say this is the Palm Rich is talking about? In my humble opinion I think they are different? I do have a Palm labelled malcomberii which does look like Tims. Malcomberii certainly is a bit of a tricky species though.... seems to be a few different forms?

Thanks Bill! I got the palm, when it was MUCH smaller, from Bill Austin with the D. malcomberi name on it. I really don't know much more than that, but it's an interesting palm.

Colin, thanks a lot as well. We'll have to do a PRA up at Lyon the next time I'm on Oahu. You up for that?

Ben, boy they look similar and could be the same thing. I think they both need to grow a bit more for a viable comparison.

Tim, really great growing and good photography, too. Thanks.

I have something quite different as malcomberi:

Seeds from RPS in July 2007, planted April 2014. Leaves are beginning to show some ranking, but clearly a lot different from yours that is different from anything I have ever seen (save some seeds for me).

Very nice!!  The wet side of the big island seems magical for palm growing. I'll be there for the first time in May. Might not ever come back!

Funny to see this post now!!  I only came back to sell all of our stuff before we moved to Hilo!  It's great to be your neighbor now Tim!
