Cyclone Debbie has left one of the most beautiful tropical places in the world, the Whitsundays, Australia absolutely devastated.

With wind speeds of 263km/hr (163mi/hr) and over 8metre (26ft) storm surges coupled with Debbies slowness and unprecedented strength, she pretty much destroyed the region and has left it in a state that is almost unrecognisable.

Many people have lost so much already, most places won't have power for a week or two, drinkable water is scarce, food has become very low and so much more. Its absolutely heart breaking.

How many haven't you visited a few of us local Nutters, Like Andrew Webb, Richie, George & Jane, Norm Sieberling or gone to see Hamilton Island or the many other amazing spots of the region.

It can all grow back and we can all rebuild, but I have started this GoFund Me Page to help the greater community of the Whitsundays.

If you can please all just dig a little in your pockets it would be greatly appreciated. Even if its $5. Cant think of how many times iv been to McDonalds just for $5 meal...

Many Thanks Guys!

Shane

I am on the way to Sri Lanka and feel so sorry, your pictures are almost the same I did after the tsunami.
I feel really sad.
Gladly it seems (from the news I saw on internet) nobody have been killed.

All the best. The tail end came to NZ and there has been extensive flooding and landslips for the second time this year. Now we hear a third tropical storm will hit this week!

Cyclone Debbie battered us for 30 hrs with up to 260km/he winds and then afterward we received up to 1 meter of rain . We have had no power for 14 days . There's been no loss of life and most houses pulled through with minimal damage but there are trees and power poles down everywhere. My garden is trashed with about 70 % loss and a lot of cleanup to do . As if the cyclone wasn't enough the next night we had a mudslide inundate the house and spread silt everywhere causing more damage . I had to leave my pregnant wife and two young kids to go to work getting the shires water and sewer network going working over 12 hrs a day for 8 days straight . My awesome neighbors cleaned up my yard and graded my driveway for me . I have spoken to Andrew tropiicgardener and he's ok but gardens trashed same with George and norm . The clean up continues and will for many months and cost many $$ .IMG_2338.thumb.JPG.f0244de752d4fda221211 IMG_2342IMG_2342.MOV.MOV
