This is my first attempt at rooting these plants. I came up on bunches of leucadendron and leucospermum bouquets at work and though they look nice in a vase in my living room, I thought I'd try to root them instead. I'm not sure how successful these will be, but I guess we'll see!

First, I cut the stems into sections between 6 and 8 inches long

Next, I removed the leaves from the lower sections of each cutting.

Removing the cones was next. That way the plant can focus it's energy on producing roots and not seeds.

I applied a bit of rooting hormone to each one:

Now it's just a matter of waiting to see what they do

yea, about a quarter of them rooted. I'm trying again with leucospermum this year.

About how long did it take to root?

I'd say a 25% success rate with a nonspecific protocol is pretty darn good.

Hi! My one looks very similar like yours.

2 weeks after I bought them, I watered them deeply when I noticed the flowers and leaves were not standing up straight like before. I have no idea why mine starts to die, the leaves are drooping and very dry,  seems like they are turning yellow...

Do you have any tips to take care of this plant or how to revive it?
