Any photos of the fruit? Here we have butia's that produce orange fruit & some that produce red fruit.

Wonderful pictures! Thanks for posting those. Now I know what I can look forward to... someday. I got a B. purpurascens (below) years ago on eBay (via Coconut Climber) and it's been very slow to develop here in central NorCal. Sometimes palms are all about patience!

Alguma foto do fruto? Aqui temos butia's que produzem frutas de laranja e alguns que produzem frutos vermelhos.

Unfortunately the fruiting period had already passed.

Fotos maravilhosas!

The soil of the habitat is very argillaceous .

What an incredibly graceful palm. Wonder if anyone is creating hybrids with this as a parent. @ErikSJI

So the flower are yellow. Interesting the the fruit would be purple. I would think the flower would be red or purple.

Here is a local one that produces red fruit, but the flowers are also red.

Imho that is not Butia purpurascens, Laaz, it looks too sturdy/massive and clearly has teeth on its petioles.

I didn't say it was, I said I thought a tree that produced purple fruit I would think would have purple or red flowers similar to this tree that produces red fruit.

Sorry, I thought "here is a local one" was referring to purpurascens.

I have a small one growing at the edge of my garden lot in pure sand. It looks so delicate and fragile but has been a tough little palm.

I have a B. purpurescens growing in Augusta, GA.  It as survived 11F and recovered nicely.  It is too small to be bearing fruit, but is growing nicely in full sun in deep sand in a very dry area.  I fertilize it about twice a year with 10-10-10.  It is decidedly greener than most of the B. odoratas, yatays, eriospathas, and paraguayensis that I am also growing.

The photo is from summer of 2014 after we had had a very rough winter.  The palm is about 3x that size now.
