I spotted this palm at an industrial estate near my place a few days ago.  At first, I thought it looked a little different to the regular Bangalow or Alexanders normally be planted in such a location.  I've driven down this street hundreds of times but never noticed this palm before, even so, I suspect this is an old palm - probably 30 years old but planted in fairly poor clay soil.  But it still looks quite healthy all the same.     To me, it looks like a Burritiokentia Hapala but I could be wrong.  

What do fellow Palmtalkers think it is????

Agreed; that big swollen crownshaft is pretty distinctive. Great looking palm..

I will agree also.

Nice Dictyosperma.

It looks like D.album variety

Located on Vanua Levu near Savusavu (16degrees South) Elevation from sealevel to 30meters with average annual rainfall of 2800mm (110in) with temperature from 18 to 34C (65 to 92F).
