Foxtail palm inflorescence to mature fruits time

Hi, 

I have seen few weeks ago a foxtail palm in inflorescence and was wondering how long it will takes to have mature fruits/seeds.
This palm is located in Rabat, Morocco in a mediterranean climate (like California/Spain ....), the mature fruit are probably available at the same period in mediterranean climate maybe usually on December or January ? Any ideas ???

Here is picture that show the inflorescence stage - June 2017 (Picture from internet, palm i have seen is at the same inflorescence stage) :

For me here in Southern California, the seeds matured in about 7 months.

They turn a nice red color.

What period of the year they get mature in your country, January ??

For me, they matured in June.

dwimss  ,i have some foxtails that are dropping mature, big red seed now. and others that have just had the seeds come out. i am going to guess its a 5-month process here.cheers, kris

I had 3 huge inflorescences at different stages of growth and a new 4th one soon ready to open up.  They can be very messy dropping flowers and fruit (seeds) so I just removed all 4.  On the ground below the palm are mostly different bromeliads which would be made ugly or even destroyed by falling flowers and fruit.

Foxtails are the new Queens in Florida.

My buddy and I just collected a bunch of Foxtail and queen seeds in South FL for the Parrots. You can see by looking at the other trees they keep pumping flower out a majority of the year.

I have never thought to try Foxtail seeds on my parrots. I have never seen the wild parrots eat them.

I too have an endless supply of Foxtail seeds.

I had no idea either until I saw a lady asking for them in our local buy sell trade page. Apparently they love them.

We have a big one, probably about 20', 7 years? waiting for it to flower.

But it looks like a case of 'be careful what you wish for'.

I got rid of the Queens because of the maintenance and the mess.

In Arizona,they flower year round,but the few successful seeds produced mature over our winter. I'm done growing these from seed for local sale,so any maturing seeds are free for local pickup for anyone wanting to give them a try.
