Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!

Oh I like this game. I have a bunch of Roystonea borinquenas that were on my farm when I bought it. Or is that cheating?

Since there is no prize perhaps no rules either! Anyway, I'll take my tape measure and camera and post the results hopefully later today.

The easiest one to reach when rain threatened is awkward to measure because I had to chop down one of its progeny. Two many giant fronds and I have lots of this species. Best I could measure it is about 32" at the base. Then the measuring tape fell part way down the steep hill but no photographer to show its retrieval. That ended my attempts to more accurately document.

Roystoneas are no stranger to Florida, but I really wish we could grow those gorgeous Kentia palms here.  Nice!  Who needs coconut trees when you have Kentias that look like that?!

... And much fatter than I imagined a Kentia trunk would be too.
