Can anyone tell me the disease on these Ti plants?  I have probably a few hundred stems around my yard and a good number of them seem to be affected with some sort of nastiness.  Some stems have died completely while others are putting out stunted leaves and/or dropping leaves quickly.  The older leaves on affected plants also are a bit tattered looking.

Any help with a diagnosis would be appreciated!

I can't quite focus on the problem...but it looks like mealy bug.  Malathion or insecticidal soap once a week should help.  Also a systemic would help, but this far along I'd go with a thorough application of the insecticidal soap.

Kim-

Thanks for the reply.  I just went a took a few more "in focus" pics.  Do these pics ID the problem more clearly?

Looks like mealy bug to me as well. Though, I'm not exactly sure how they end up destroying plants.

Well guys and gals, I soaked all the affected Ti plants down heavily with Maliathon and will follow up with a repeat dose in a few days and well see what happens.  Thanks for all the input as it is appreciated.
