Cycas hongheensis was firstly proposed as a distinct taxon in 1994 and formally described two years later based on vegetative materials only.
 
5. Cycas ferruginea, USD55/10 seeds, USD200/50 seeds,
very rare and not quite known untill recently

Cycas ferruginea is an interesting cycad with red fur on the petioles, first described by a Chinese botanist in 1995, from a single plant in cultivation in South China. The wild source was not known at that time, making the origin something of a mystery.

Right now new fresh seeds of Cycas debaoensis, multipinnata, ferruginea and hongheensis  are to be collected late this week 

and be ready for shipment right away. C.micholitzii seeds to be collected in 2 weeks.

Those who have ordered them please contact me for shipment arrangement.

It is the first time in a decade that we have successfully pollinated Cycas ferruginea and  seeds are available in stock.

Yes  they are from the orginal source areas of China.
