Hello there,

since Phoenix roebelenii are quite common over here I am not really interested in purchasing one.

So, this in mind I usually ignoring such offers at our local home depot but this one got somehow my

attention. My instincts are telling me that it is a "normal" Ph. robelenii, but I got some doubts and thats why

I am posting it here.

If you have time, please take a look.

What my doubts caused:

The trunk looks to clean - I think the scars should be more "developed" and

the leaves/leaflets are too stiff - those of a P. roebelenii should be more soft....(looks more like those of a young CDIP).

I would be thankful for any help - if it turns out to be another species or hybrid, may be

I will consider a purchase.

Thank you very much for your time -

best regards

Lars

I’m not an expert, but it looks like a pure P. roebelenii to me. My P. roebelenii looks very similar except it’s shorter. I think a hybrid would be considerably larger than that.

Beautiful palm nonetheless, I’ve never seen one that large for sale here.

Thank you very much for your help - I think you are correct, it looks pretty much like a P. roebelenii.
