they did Dave! but this is one of the community pots that was ravaged by squirrels. i think there are a few unsprouted seeds left in there though.

not sure exactly.

the smaller one is close to 14-15 yrs old.

 

the bigger one has to be at least 20+ yrs from seed

Here is one growing in our garden,Its my third attempt with Brahea Armata .They usually damp-off during our hot wet winters(Rainy season)..:(

One of the armatas. Camera on phone doesnt do the color justice. Grasshoppers like the way it tastes too....

Kris, maybe plant the B. armatas on a sandy mound? I recall some folks in England doing the same thing to get them through their rainy winters.

Here are pictures of my Brahea Clara, Brahea Decumbens and my two Brahea Armatas. The Brahea Clara has been a super fast grower for me while the others seem to grow ever so slowly. I bought the Brahea Clara from Mark in O-side as a one leaf/one gallon plant. At around the same time I bought two 24” boxed Armatas. The Clara is now the same size as the Armatas. Clara’s are super fast compared to Armatas, at least in my personal experience.

This is armata. The blue tint doesn't show too well in the picture. There's a nice yellow tint in the petioles too.

Whoa! cool palms! Are these both armata? the one looks like it has yellow/orange on the petiole. Is this normal variation among armatas?
