Out of The Weather Channel (default weather app on my phone) and the Weather Underground App, which one do you prefer? I personally prefer The Weather Channel app because it seems more accurate compared to Weather Underground, for example this morning it said on The Weather Channel app that it was 50 out and on Weather Underground it said it was 42. When I went outside it was for sure 50, it may have even been warmer. But around noon the two apps tempatures even out. For example the pictures below. Weather Underground is the one that is black.

I personally like The Weather Channel app also. They’re pretty good at their forecasts for the immediate coming days. However, the only complaint I have for them is that, and pardon me if this the case with most weather services, but I’ve seen that TWC can fluctuate their forecasts very frequently. About a couple days ago, the app said that lows right before Christmas would drop into the upper 30s... and now they have them at the low 50s. Not a big deal, but would like to see more solid forecasts soon. Again, I’m not very informed about weather apps... just giving my observations.

I typically rely on The Weather Channel.  I usually at least peek at Accuweather or Weather Underground just to see how much deviation there is between the forecasts, but overall, the Weather Channel has been closer to my readings here more often than the others.

I agree with LF-TX, the Weather Channel constantly changes their forecast, and it was not that way a few years ago. The weather forecast I trust the most temperature wise is NOAA.

Lived in Cape Coral, Miami, Orlando and St. Petersburg Florida.

For me weather underground is far more accurate. My neighbor has the reporting station. Im on the barrier island of Daytona Beach and the reporting station for the Weather Channel and local news guys is at the airport near I 95.

Since any of the various   On-line , TV , newspaper , or whatever outlets  , will usually only display a

single  set of data for any given location , it is important that each viewer should know how that data may ,( on

average) relates to their own location .

As Reeverse noted above , the location for the Daytona Beach area e.g. , is a single point , and really does not well

represent the entire area . But it is , as commonly seen elsewhere , at the local airport .  Most areas have a considerable variation

in weather readings over the area that is within the same  City , Town , location .

  Use those PWS's .

Many people can see surprisingly big variations even on their own properties , or within their yard .

Walk around on a cold still morning with a digital thermo , let it stabilize at different locations .

On one property that I had in Florida  , there was a 10 deg difference overall .

later as the day went on , and air mixing proceeded , the variation virtually disappeared .

Like Real Estate  , it boils down to    " Location , Location . Location ".

That's a great point. If you want to get a better idea of the temperature at different locations of your property an infrared thermometer might be ideal.

There's not much difference between the Weather Channel and Wunderground as far as temperature accuracy is concerned. I use Wunderground almost exclusively since I have a station. The forecasts are usually accurate to about 3f which is as good as I can reasonably expect.
