In connection with this year’s Board of Directors meeting, The Cycad Society will hold Cycad Day 2007 on Saturday, June 16 at the world-renowned Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California.  Society members will be treated to a day of activities at the Huntington, including:

• Stimulating talks by cycad experts

• A tour of the Huntington’s cycad collections

• An auction of donated cycads to benefit the Society

The $35 ticket price includes admission to the Huntington (a $15 value) and a delicious catered lunch (a $25 value).  This is the Society’s only event planned for this year, so you’ll want to be included.  You’ll meet fellow cycad enthusiasts, see the Huntington’s marvelous gardens, enjoy a sumptuous barbeque and get access to our rare cycad auction, where your purchase proceeds will help the Society support cycad study and conservation.

Attendance is available only to Society members and their spouses or dependent minors and limited by the capacity of our meeting room.  If you would like to attend the meeting send me a PM and I’ll e-mail you a registration form.  To become a Society member or renew your membership, visit our Website at www.cycad.org.

I believe Jeff Chemnick will be giving a talk; for those of you at last weekend's meeting of the Palm Society of Southern California, he invited everyone in attendance to a tour of his extensive gardens after the auction - quite a guy.
