Great pictures as always. Thanks for sharing. That A. leucocalyx is a really neat little palm. Much slower to go pinnate in my experience. Your closeup shots really show the difference between that & arenaria.

Had  this one from a seedling given to me in the UK about  5  years ago, they grow quite  quickly  here and produce  masses of  seed  regularly but they never  seem to mature

Mines in full THAILAND  sun it  doesnt need to be an  understory at all

Maybe if you only have 1 palm you need to save the pollen, because i recieved very good seeds and this seems to be a common problem with people who only have 1 palm

Here’s my biggest about 1.3 M 4 feet tall overall.

Love these things! Much superior to arenarum; nice petite size, pretty color, and doesn’t get The Nasties.

Oooh, I like those.  Are they as cold hardy as A arenaria?  How about growing in sand?  We have lots of sand and sun here, always looking for plants that like those conditions.  

Land O Lakes FL, a suburb on the North Side of Tampa, FL

Summers are great, 90f/32c in the day & 70f/21c at night with plentiful rain & sun

Winters are subtropical with occasional frosts and freezes. Tropical cyclones happen.

We have a few Royal palms in the warm microclimates but Coconuts freeze.

I am a Kayaker, Hiker, Bicyclist, and amateur Photographer that loves the outdoors.
