Flowers of Cerrado

Really enjoy all the pictures Caixeta.. Such an amazing place. I hope those wishing to protect what is left of habitat succeed.

Peter,
Not 100% but after searching around a bit, the1st possibly is Mimosa regina, ( last two pictures in the second post. Foliage, flower arrangement, stem detail look similar to pictures I was able to find. ) the other is likely another mimosa sp. Maybe M. flocculosa??   Practically no info on either sp. Look neat though.

^^ M. clausenii is another possibility. Apparently there are several ..almost tree-like Mimosa species native to the region. One in particular I found pictures of late last night looks almost like a Cycad. ( M. manidea. Pictures of which, taken by a gentleman by the name of Mauricio Mercadante, can be found on his Flickr page titled " Flora do Cerrado" ) Lots of other cool stuff as well, including pictures of the region's Palms.

Wow ! So many beautiful striking plants from cerrado . Is there a chance of having them in a nearer future ? Why cant we see any cerrado flora on sale ? Do you collect some seeds and mind to share ? :D  Im so eager and really wish to grow it too . Yes indeed Mimosa manidea is one of the most striking neat species . Others such as cyclophylla , densa , foliolosa v. grandibractea , lanuginosa , longepedunculata , speciosissima , virgula and the most notable splendida really caught my eye I can only hope and pray ^_^
